Parkinson's Guildford Branch

Activities overview

For people with Parkinson's, socialising and exercise are equally important.

We have monthly meetings, summer outings, exercise, gospel choir and speech therapy classes. The teachers are highly professional, experienced and friendly - and they tailor their classes for individual members at different stages of the condition.

We also have an annual Florence Pite Memorial Lecture at the Institute of Chartered Surveyors in Portland Square. Florence Pite was a local member of our branch who left a very generous legacy, and the lecture is in her honour.

Delivered by an acknowledged expert, the lecture focuses on the latest research and initiatives to try and find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's. Florence Pite's legacy is integral to the research programme.
